Dak Prescott told his side of the Jalen Carter SpitGate story after the Eagles’ 24-20 win over Dem Boyz on Thursday night:

“I probably spit a thousand times through the game. Especially gameday, maybe even in general. It’s something I’m not proud of, but in that case he was trolling, I guess you could say, trying to mess with Tyler Booker, I was just lookin at him, I was between the two linemen, guess I needed to spit, and I wasn’t going to spit on my linemen, so I just spit ahead. He goes, ‘you trying to spit on me?’ And at that point I felt like he was insulting me. I wouldn’t damn sure spit on anybody, and I’m not trying to spit on you. We’re about to play a game and I’m wondering why you’re messing with the rookie. So when I stepped through I said ‘what the <expletive> would I need to spit on you for?’ And he just spit on me in that moment, it was more of a surprise than anything. Refs obviously saw it and threw the flag… I don’t wish for anybody to get (thrown) out of the game and I’m sure he probably regrets that to some extent. Pretty sure he knows I didn’t try to spit on him or wasn’t even aiming at him.”

Okay, so just so we have it straight, Dak spit first, but says he didn’t spit at or on Jalen Carter and would never do that to someone in the first place. Maybe he has that medical problem where your body creates a lot of saliva and he feels the need to spit a lot. SPECULATING, of course. It would be reckless to assume.

Carter, who launched a retaliatory loogie and was ejected, spoke after the game and said a whole lot of nothing:

It’s in God’s hands now, God being the National Football League. Will they make an example of Carter and suspend him? Will Dak be reprimanded? Will all parties keep their saliva to themselves moving forward?

Play the song!
