So Cary Williams Has Pretty Much Killed All That Press Conference Goodwill
By Kyle Scott
Published:

Cary Williams held one of my all-time favorite introductory press conferences in March when he simultaneously ripped Nnamdi Asomugha and Howard Eskin. A twofer!
His exchange with Eskin from March:
The fans… are very vocal… now that you’ve connected yourself to Nnamdi… you know at the end what happened…
“I don’t think I connected myself at all. I just said it was a guy that I looked at in his particular successful time. I didn’t say he was one of the high guys that I looked at this year.”
“He was just a guy that I happened to like. So if you take me as a joke, then you take me as a joke, I don’t care. I’m here to win games and help my team win games as best as I can, and I’m going to go out there an put on a performance each and every week.”
But now? He hasn’t showed up to OTAs (yes, the optional ones). Tim McManus of the wonderful Eagles 24/7 blog at Philly Mag:
Meanwhile, Cary Williams was once again a no-show. The corner missed about a month of work as he took care of some personal business, which included getting married, having dental work done and tending to a house-build. The latest reason? His daughter’s recital.
Yeah, those are bogus reasons.
LeSean McCoy was also a no-show. No reason was given (anyone check the NJ Turnpike?).
