It was fun while it lasted for Dem Boyz. They put together a nice little win streak to get their fans’ hopes up, then they lost to the Lions and Vikings in consecutive weeks to fall back to Earth with a thud. They’re 6-7-1 and play the Chargers, Giants, and Communists, so that feels like 8-8-1 on paper, perhaps, which would be a mediocre .500 season for a mediocre franchise.

It has now been 30 years since the Cowboys last made the NFC Championship Game. It’s the longest title game drought in the entire conference. In fact, Zaire was still a country when the Cowboys last advanced beyond the divisional round. Here’s the Billboard year-end top 100 from that when that happened:
