The Eagles are Hiring a New Pass Game Coordinator, Who Hopefully Puts “Four Verticals” in the Trash Can
Schefty:
First things first, this is Kevin Patullo’s old job, so if he stays with the organization in some role, it’s not gonna be this one. The gig was held by Parks Frazier this season, so we’ll find out soon enough what’s happening with him.
Second, Grizzard was considered an offensive coordinator candidate at one point. He’s another young guy, 35 years old but with more experience than Sean Mannion. Grizzard played at Yale and parlayed that Ivy League intelligence into a graduate assistant and quality control gig with the Duke Blue Devils. He then jumped to the Dolphins in 2017 and did six seasons of quality control and receiver coaching before becoming Tampa’s pass game coordinator in 2024 and then OC in 2025.
Tampa had injuries on offense this year. Honestly kinda hard to do a full evaluation of that team. For what it’s worth, when Grizzard was pass game coordinator the year prior, under Liam Coen, TB’s offense was rolling. Baker Mayfield threw for 4,500 yards and 41 touchdowns to guys like Mike Evans, Cade Otton, and Chris Godwin. They used the RBs well in the passing game also.
Key takeaway here is two young minds on the offensive side of the ball to hopefully give this unit a much-needed kick in the ass. Mannion/Grizzard 2026, vote early and vote often.
