With Jeff Stoutland moving on, the Birds reportedly have a new RGC / tight ends:

Never heard of the guy, but I love the move! Let’s go!

Apparently Mahaffey was an undrafted fullback out of Northern Iowa back in 2011. He had a cup of coffee on the Ravens, Colts, and Dolphins’ practice squads. He’s one of those guys who went right into coaching after a brief pro career, getting the tight ends job at his alma mater before joining Notre Dame as a graduate assistant. He went back to UNI, then to Western Kentucky, back to UNI, and then found his way to Green Bay as a quality control guy and worked his way up. He held the titles of assistant O line coach and wide receivers coach going back to 2022.

The main thing you need to know is that Sean Mannion branches off the Sean McVay and Matt LaFleur coaching tree, so the run game is going to be conceptually similar to what you’ve seen from those guys over the years. Bring back a healthy Lane Johnson, Landon Dickerson, and Cam Jurgens, get Saquon some rest, and come into 2026 with some new designs and a figurative paint job. Then we RUN THE BALL! ROLL THAT BLOUNT!
