The king Gregg (Double G) Matza is back to reclaim his title as world’s best tailgater. Like clockwork every single year, he shows up at 4 a.m. with shrimp and more beers than the eye can see.

h/t Tim Jimenez at KYW NewsRadio:

Said his Eagles prayers, gassed up, iced up, and jetted down to the stadium. And there won’t be any naps. They call him “No Naps” Matza for a reason. My god. What a legend. Some people talk about it. Others be about it:

I love that the shrimp and beers have increased as he gets older. This guy is a machine. He used to be able to count his beers, now there’s no chance. If you’re from around here you’ve seen Gregg on the news for the last four years now:

Every Eagles home opener it’s like waiting to see the groundhog for six more weeks of winter, but instead I’m just waiting for Tim Jimenez from KYW to interview Gregg so I know that he made it through the offseason again. Now that I know he’s still alive, there will be five more months of Eagles football. God I love the special bond that Tim and Gregg have:

If you’re heading down to tailgate and you’re near M2 make sure you go up and you shake Double G’s hand. That’s a guy paving the way for the next generation of Eagles tailgaters.
