Earlier this week, Albert Breer reported that the Eagles made a trade offer for Melvin Gordon that included running back Jordan Howard, who is in his first season with the team. The Birds allegedly also offered a pick swap while asking the Chargers to eat some of their holdout running back’s $5.6 million salary.

That rumor is not true, according to Doug Pederson, who said this today about Howard:

We feel great about Jordan. It’s why we brought him here, and we actually went to Jordan when the report came out, went right to him and said, you know, ‘Listen, you’re here. The report is false. It’s not coming from us.’ So, just wanted to reassure him that this is the reason why you’re here, to help us win games.

Well that’s interesting. We now have Rumor Warz, Albert Breer vs. the Philadelphia Eagles. Which side are you taking? Is the rumor bullshit? Or do you think Howie Roseman really did offer Jordan Howard in a Melvin Gordon proposal?

We will likely never find out, but here’s Doug talking about it, around the 8:30 mark:
