This puts the Birds in the mix for a fourth round compensatory draft pick.
Sendejo’s most noticeable contribution this season was almost killing his own teammate, Avonte Maddox. He also dove recklessly into a pile of bodies on a third and long a few weeks back but avoided a penalty by missing everybody entirely. This past Sunday, another dumb play resulted in a 15-yard penalty for unnecessary roughness.
Good player for the Vikings, Sendejo, but unfortunately the game of football no longer interfaces well with the “heat-seeking missile” type of safety. The Birds can throw Maddox back there in a pinch now, or just put another corner on the field for dime packages. They’ll be alright.
Thanks for everything, Andrew Sendejo.
