The Images from Cam Newton’s Car Crash Are Scary

Twitter is atwitter at the moment over photos of a car crash involving Cam Newton that, apparently, happened right outside a Charlotte Observer office. You can see them all after the jump, but basically what’s known so far is that Newton’s car flipped, he was put on a stretcher and taken to the hospital. He was able to communicate with emergency responders. No word on the other person(s) involved. Officers pulled some clothing and a pair of Beats headphones from Newton’s truck, which I’m sure will lead to a fine from Roger Goodell.

UPDATE: Newton was smiling and taken to the hospital as a precaution:

UPDATE 2: He has two lower-back fractures.
