An update from The King:

Howard meant to write “I now hear” instead of “I know hear,” FYI.

Gotta be honest, I don’t give one-tenth of a shit about the Zach Ertz story at this point. I think I’m in the same camp as Jimmy Kempski, who wrote this on Twitter:

I understand the excitement of Zach Ertz *maybe* returning to the team because he’s a fan fave, etc, but it doesn’t make sense. Looking at it unemotionally, there’s no good reason to overpay on his $8.5 million salary while also taking snaps away from the better/younger TE.

Yeah. Zach Ertz isn’t the long-term TE1 for this team, so while it’s nice to have him work with Jalen Hurts as a veteran weapon to help a young QB, he doesn’t have a future here, so you can’t sacrifice too many snaps and stunt your growth.

We have to keep our priorities straight here. We’re turning a corner and moving forward. It’s a new era of Eagles football. Ertz is a Bird legend and Super Bowl winner, but the upside of keeping him for the 2021 season is seemingly very little.
