The Lions Proved the Tush Push is Stoppable and Therefore Should Stay in the Game

Teams can’t claim the Tush Push is unstoppable anymore because the Detroit Lions stopped it five times in one game. FIVE TIMES IN ONE GAME! If anything came out of Sunday night’s game, it’s that the Eagles defense is generational and the Tush Push should remain in the game. The Lions were one of the few teams that voted “Yes” to keeping the play and they backed it up with legitimate efforts to stop it. This was impressive:
I noticed the Lions do something different than most teams. They send a guy around the edge to muddy up the scrum and pull the QB back. The middle linebacker also hit Hurts perfectly in that video above. The Eagles were also running it with backup center, Brett Toth. Look at some of these new tactics they deployed. They’re fighting push with push:
“Respect” –
If you’re an Eagles fan or pro-Tush you couldn’t ask for a better result from Sunday night. Not only did a team prove it can be stopped, the refs also called a false start on the Eagles, when, for once, they didn’t jump early. The NFL is going to delete this footage so fast it’ll make your head spin:
I’m seeing idiots online claim that Tyler Steen jumped and that this was the right call. Are people refusing to see the Lions player lined up in the neutral zone? Steen played this perfectly. He’s trying to touch his hand to force a penalty on the Lions, but again, the referees got it wrong. I sound like a broken record, but the Eagles shouldn’t be penalized because the refs suck. You can’t fix stupid.
