He’ll be a top DC candidate.” Yeah, and I’m Eric Clapton on the guitar. I see you, Matt Patricia’s agent.

We all know dude was thrown into a tough spot, but while Patricia was calling the defensive plays, the Birds lost to Drew Lock, Kyler Murray, and Baker Mayfield. The defense didn’t get any better when he took over. How much of that was his fault vs., say, James Bradberry being a traffic cone wearing lead shoes? Hard to say!

I do have to say that I like the “not under contract” thing. You can’t technically fire someone if their contract expired at the end of the season. Maybe there’s a parallel here, like when your boss calls up to shit can you, but you yell “I quit!” before he or she can do that. Then you tell everyone you weren’t fired, but you quit.
