Oh boy! –

Four years and $70 million for Doubs, who is a very good receiver but more WR2 than WR1. He had 724 yards and 6 touchdowns on 55 receptions for the Packers last season.

Is he A.J. Brown? No. He may not even be Stefon Diggs, who the Patriots released after he went for 1,000 yards this past season.

But he’s solid, and signing Doubs doesn’t necessarily preclude the Pats from also trading for A.J., though they now have Doubs, Kayshon Boutte, Mack Hollins, and Demario Douglas on the depth chart, the latter three hitting about $13 million against the cap. The dead cap hit for Diggs is reportedly $9.7 million.

Rap Sheet added some color to this with an afternoon report:

“If it’s not the Patriots for A.J. Brown, the Eagles face the possibility of kind of going back to the drawing board. Or maybe Brown goes, ‘you know what, I’m going to open it up and consider going to some other teams.’ There’s a lot here. But for the Patriots and for Drake Maye, most importantly, they get a big-time target in their receiver room.”

FWIW the Kalshi market for A.J. Brown’s next team has jumped accordingly:
