The Philadelphia Eagles were Reportedly on Micah Parsons’ Shortlist

We all knew that Micah Parsons wanted to be a Philadelphia Eagle at some point in time. He ended up being traded to the Packers, but Diana Russini at The Athletic (now with ads) says the Birds were on a very short shortlist:
As the relationship deteriorated, Parsons had two teams on his mind: the Packers and the Eagles.
Green Bay appealed for its small-town feel, a reminder of his Penn State days in State College. Philadelphia was the other obvious fit, because it’s close to his Harrisburg home. But Dallas wasn’t about to keep him inside the NFC East, even for a better offer (the Eagles have tons of draft ammunition).
Adam Schefter reported after the trade that the Eagles made a phone call and were rebuffed by Dallas. That’s not surprising. Jerry Jones is a senile old goat, but he still has enough gray matter up there to prevent him from trading his best player to a division rival. And even if the Birds did fork over a couple of high draft picks, they have a lot of ammo anyway, as the article says. They wouldn’t exactly be mortgaging the future for “Michael Parson,” as Jerry called him in that one press conference.
