Jeff McLane reports that Vic Fangio ain’t going nowhere:

So here’s the situation –

Jeff Stoutland is done. They hired this Ryan Mahaffey guy as run game coordinator and tight ends. But they still need an offensive line coach and they have maybe one more year from Vic before he rightfully rides off into the sunset, to presumably sit on his couch and watch Phillies baseball.

Enter Juan Castillo!

Think about it for a moment; you need a veteran offensive line coach and you’ll soon need a defensive coordinator, and he’s one of the few people out there who can do both jobs. You bring in Castillo as offensive line/defensive coordinator in waiting, OR, you have him do both jobs in 2027. Who says no? Do the deal!

What has Juan Castillo been up to anyway? He’s actually the O line coach at Syracuse, a pointless ACC football program, kind of like PITT.* He spent 2025 with Michigan, 2024 with UCLA, and 2022 and 2023 with the Commies overseeing the run game and tight ends. After he left the Birds 14 years ago, he spent time with the Ravens, Bills, and Da Bears. The guy still has it. He’s 66 years old but maybe we can get 2-3 more good years out of him. And bring back Jim Washburn and the Wide-9 while you’re at it. Jason Babin as the Eagles EDGE coach. Let’s go wild!

*Fuck Syracuse. The Orange deserve their share of blame for the collapse of the Big East and the two resulting decades of conference realignment.

**Disclaimer: This is a shit post, but it’s better than complaining about the Eagles today. “Oh, they’re such an incompetent organization!” Give me a fuckin’ break. Go outside and touch snow.
