There’s Some Trade Buzz Around Moro Ojomo, Riq Woolen, and Dallas Goedert

The Eagles are bad and it’s time to blow it up. Kinker wrote about it earlier today, and he’s spot on: Even if this team was healthy, which they’re not and will not be anytime soon, they probably wouldn’t be a real Super Bowl contender anyway. All that’s left to do is for Howie Roseman to send out any/every valuable piece and try to get the biggest return possible so he can kick-start a rebuild. NFL rebuilds don’t even take that long. The Birds could be back in contention in two-ish years. Howie’s done it before, and he could do it again — but the sooner he starts, the better.
Speaking of which, I was interested to see that ESPN mentioned a few Eagles players that would make trade sense as we approach the November 10th deadline:
Jeremy Fowler: Eagles defensive tackle Moro Ojomo is a person of interest here (Jacksonville), though Philly is inclined to keep and potentially extend him. Also, Jacksonville must make a firm decision on Brian Thomas Jr . Several teams are interested (Chiefs and Steelers are in the receiver market) and are confident Jacksonville will eventually move him. But the Jaguars have not shown a willingness to do so yet.
The Bears have been linked to edge rushers such as Khalil Mack , but a few league evaluators told me what you heard — that cornerback is becoming more of a need. Tyrique Stevenson Sr . and Jaylon Johnson have had their up-and-down moments this season. And while Malik Muhammad II is flashing, he’s a rookie. Washington’s Mike Sainristil is a name that has circulated this week, though I don’t get the sense the Commander’s plan to trade him. An available corner such as the Eagles’ Riq Woolen for a Day 3 pick could make sense.
Speaking of Philadelphia, my sense is the Eagles could be trading some players but likely won’t engage in a rebuild. As one source pointed out, that’s not in the Eagles’ organizational DNA. We already know they aren’t trading running back Saquon Barkley . Look, let’s not be naive — general manager Howie Roseman will take advantage of good value if it’s there, and supporting players are surely on the radar. But dealing big names would be a mild surprise. Ojomo will be a test of the Eagles’ transitional state. There’s real interest in him (from Jacksonville and others). Whether Philly acts on that interest will tell a lot.
Dan Graziano: The Eagles are always active, but they’ve lost six games in a row and their quarterback is out for the season. But like you, I don’t anticipate a big sell-off. First of all, they’re very cap-leveraged because of the way they structure their veteran contracts, and trading some of them would make that worse with dead money hits accelerating into this season. If the Eagles trade players, I’d be looking at guys like Woolen, WR Hollywood Brown and maybe, maybe tight end Dallas Goedert for the right offer. If they’re adding, I would expect it to be players who are signed beyond this season.
It wouldn’t bother me in the slightest if any/all of the players mentioned were traded. If you look at each of their contracts/ages/production, they all make a ton of sense to get moved by the deadline:
- Ojomo is just 25 and in the final year of his four-year, $3.9 million rookie deal. He broke out with 6 sacks in 2025 and has 21 tackles so far this season.
- Goedert returned to Philly on a reworked one-year, $7 million deal this year. At 31, he’s still a solid, affordable option for a contender looking for help at tight end, with 26 catches for 258 yards and 2 touchdowns so far in 2026. Imagine the Eagles could get a fourth- or fifth-round pick for him. That would also be nice.
- Woolen inked a one-year, $12 million deal back in March, but his low remaining salary makes him a pretty affordable option for teams looking for cornerback help. Through 8 games, he’s put up 30 tackles, 6 pass breakups, and a forced fumble, along with a 63.1 PFF grade that ranks 44th out of 102 cornerbacks. That’s pretty solid, and Howie could probably expect to get a fourth- or fifth-round pick for him.
- Brown signed a one-year, $5 million deal this offseason that could reach $6.5 million with incentives, but his base salary is just $1.3 million. That makes him a very cheap/low-risk option for a team looking to add some depth and roll the dice on his upside. The return wouldn’t be crazy high, but the Eagles could probably get a late-round pick, which is better than nothing.
- The Eagles said they’re not going to trade Saquon Barkley, which, in my opinion, is dumb. He’s a running back who’s almost 30 that the Birds are paying a lot of money to (he just signed a two-year, $41.2 million extension in March including $36 million guaranteed). Trade the man. Get a third-round pick for him.
There’s no doubt that the Eagles have a ton of work to do to get this thing back on track — but sending these guys out before Tuesday is as good a place to start as any. And if we’re just spitballing ideas around here, maybe the Birds should throw the rest of the roster in the mix too. Put everyone on the table. Coaches, too. Trade Big Dom. Trade the Eagles Postgame guys. Fresh start. Why not. Hit the reset button, Howie. The sooner you start the rebuild, the sooner the Eagles are contending again.
