Have you noticed it’s been an all-out Jalen Hurts suckfest today online? Isn’t it awesome? The typical haters like WIP, Get Up, and First Things First have no option but to give Jalen Hurts his flowers after Sunday’s game. It’s beautiful. I don’t care if Hurts is a top-5 QB. All I care about is the win column.

Now listen, it’s not like QB1 is infallible. There are some things he does that makes me want to pull my hair out too. He abandons the pocket too quickly, he’s struggled with deep ball accuracy at times, and he’s even doing this thing now where he’ll roll out when the pocket breaks down and run out of bounds behind the line of scrimmage rather than throw it away or try and gain a yard or two. It’s frustrating. But he’s also 5-2 without a run game and a starting O-line that hasn’t finished one game together this year. Now that he’s under center more, maybe the passing game opens up and we get Hurts playing more mind games with his opponents. This Dan Orlovsky breakdown will make even the biggest Jalen Hurts hater give him his due:

Hurts out there playing chess while Isaiah Rodgers was playing checkers. Here’s an extension of the play Orlovsky was talking about, edited by Eagles film guy @JonnyPage9 from the all-22 video. Watch the point and the Eagles line shift left:

Rodgers bit on that Sluggo hard and got beat. Perfect execution. Who are these guys? This doesn’t feel like anything we’ve seen the last couple of weeks. I don’t know if I’ll ever be a Kevin Patullo guy and I can live with that even if he shoves it back in my face. There were still people last year who thought Kellen Moore was a dipshit going into the Super Bowl. Some coordinators you like and some coordinators you think have mush for brains. That’s me with Patullo. That being said, that took some humongous balls to call in that situation and we give credit where credit is due here. I’m still keeping Patullo at an arm’s length. He’s still in my doghouse because he’s pissed down his leg on the couch too many times for me. I think we need to pump the breaks a little bit.

Orlovsky in another clip mentioned how many receivers were open for the Eagles yesterday and it sure felt like there were more than we’ve seen in weeks. The long bomb to DeVonta Smith being the main one:

There were still multiple key plays that required Eagles wide receivers to come back to the ball because the original route didn’t work. Another clip from Jonny Page:

Kevin Patullo calling a hitch route before the sticks:

There was whatever this was on 4th down. Hurts and A.J. Brown had to work some magic:

Without having zero clue what was called, it looks like Brown was a decoy or knew he wasn’t getting the ball so he didn’t run hard. Still you look at the other receivers and see DeVonta Smith running a flat by the sticks, Jahan Dotson clearing out the corner and the safety, and Dallas Goedert with a half-assed comeback route. I think you’d be crazy to think the call was hoping Hurts would have five seconds of pass protection so that Brown could lull his defender to sleep. There were also some frustrating drives like the one before halftime and the run for no gain on 3rd & 5 at the start of the 4th quarter that resulted in a Jake Elliott missed FG. When you have chicken shit football like that and that call on 3rd & 9 it makes your head spin. Still it was a good offensive game all around. Patullo probably called his best game of the year and Jalen Hurts had his. “Two things can be true” – Kinker

We’re ain’t fucking losers no more:
