What kind of appliance guy do we think he is? Reader (@AdioBRoyster) says Maytag– I kind of agree. Old-school reliable with sneaky innovation but pretty much laughed at by modern consumers even though its slow, methodical spin cycle will get your clothes clean once in a while. Someone else said Bosch, which is literally the furthest thing from Doug– a high-end brand with flair that’s maybe a little bit cuckoo. That’s Pete Carroll.
Just for fun:
Whirlpool: Mike Tomlin– black and yellow color scheme with consistently solid performance, always runs.
LG: Jack Del Rio– a lot of style, but usually disappointing.
Amana: Gus Bradley– just bad.
Jenn-Air: Chip Kelly– acts like its a foreign brand and is way too exotic for its own good, laughed at by the real luxury brands.
Kenmore Elite: Bruce Arians– upscale and under appreciated, but it’s on the downslide.
GE: John Harbaugh– well-known, has its ups and downs, but is ultimately reliable and a strong brand.
Electrolux: Mike McCarthy– often maligned, but still around and better than you think.
Thermador: Bill Belichick– the absolute best.
I’m sure there are some others
