It’s deja vu all over again, as Yogi Berra once said.

Tom Brady lost to Nick Foles again last night, this time as a member of the Buccaneers. Close game, a second-half field goal fest that ultimately came down to a sequence in which Brady forgot what down it was.

To set the scene, Chicago had just taken a 20-19 lead with about 1:13 remaining on the clock. Tampa moved the ball to their own 41 yard line, setting up a third and 6. On the next play, Brady threw incomplete down the field for Rob Gronkowski, then followed that up with a similar pass for Cameron Brate, also incomplete. Afterward, Brady looked over to the sideline with confusion, thinking that he had another down to work with.

Tom just forgot what down it was, and then Chicago took a knee to end it. Talk about a brain fart.

After the game, Foles went to midfield looking for Brady, but didn’t find him, because he ran off into the tunnel:

Second time Big Dick Nick has been snubbed by Brady, though Tom did circle back and talk to Foles about six months after the Super Bowl, when the Patriots played the Eagles in the 2018 preseason.

If we’re being completely honest, neither QB was lights out on Thursday night. Brady finished 25-41 for  253 yards and a touchdown. Foles was 30-42 for 243 with a touchdown and a pick, which came on a catchable pass that was tipped into the air, so it wasn’t really his fault. He benefited from some great field position to put together a nine-play, 32-yard drive that resulted in the game-winning field goal.

Anyway, watching Brady lose to Foles again is a great way to start the weekend.

We’ll leave you with this fantastic stat courtesy of ESPN:

Nick Foles improves to 2-0 in his career against Tom Brady, with the other win coming in Super LII. The only other QBs with multiple wins without a loss against Tom Brady (including playoffs) are Jake Plummer (3-0), Brian Griese (2-0) and Cam Newton (2-0).

P.S. – Brady dropped it:
