Troy Aikman is Reportedly Close to Leaving Fox for ESPN

Rumors are swirling that ESPN is backing up the Brink’s truck for Troy Aikman to become the lead analyst on Monday Night Football:

Aikman’s ESPN deal will be for five years, according to sources, and his yearly salary is expected to approach or exceed the neighborhood of Tony Romo’s $17.5 million per year contract with CBS. The deal is not yet signed, but it is near completion.
The most Troy Aikman made in a year during his playing days was $4.5 million. He’s about to quadruple that with this deal. With that kind of cash maybe he can pay someone to handle his DMs for him:

So who does ESPN pair him up with? Do they throw the bag at Al Michaels, whose contract just ended with NBC? Do they pair him with Steve Levy (please don’t)? Or does Joe Buck play hardball and try to get out of his deal with Fox, which only has one year left on it, and head to the mouse?
My choice would be Buck and Aikman back in the booth together. Aikman without Buck feels wrong. Buck without Aikman is like peanut butter without the jelly. Woody without Buzz. Rick Rubin without Jay-Z. Get Rick and Jay back in the booth together:
