We Should Absolutely Expand Lincoln Financial Field to Include a Huge Mountain and Retractable Eagle-Feather Canopy

This is badass! –

Oh hell yeah. This is the future of the sports complex. It’s exactly what the Eagles should do with their lease expiring in about a half-decade. They should renew that lease, put a huge mountain where Jetro is, and then build a retractable Eagle feather canopy that covers the field. What a fucking spectacle! Then the Birds come out and run it right down the other team’s throat. The intimidation factor would be off the charts.

We’ll call it:

“The Aerie”

Not the American Eagle spinoff store at the mall, but the large nest of a bird of prey, built high into a cliff face, or a tree. We’d ditch the terrible name of “Lincoln Financial Field,” because no one cares about corporate sponsors or financial institutions, and simply call the entire venue by this singular name.

There’s no excuse not to do this. They just built a couple of $5 billion dollar stadiums out in Los Angeles. You could very easily haul in the rock and dirt to build a mountain and then get a half-dozen Drexel engineering students to design the retractable Eagle wing. Jeffrey Lurie could finance this with the change that fell between his couch cushions.

Then, since you’re losing some parking spots, and we all know how important parking is, you build a parking deck INSIDE the mountain! Somebody get me some architecture software and I’ll start designing this thing right now.

Philly deserves nice things. It’s time to think BIG in these parts!
