Let’s get an update on the CeeDee Lamb and Dallas Cowboys contract talks:

Micah “I really want to be an Eagle” Parsons retweeted that post, so it’s a good snapshot of how things are going down in the big D.

Lamb has been a training camp holdout. He’s going into the last year of a deal paying him about $18 million and wants an extension. He deserves it, too. I don’t think anybody is disputing that. He’s the best wideout they’ve had since Michael Irvin, depending on how you feel about Dez Bryant. But the bigger story as it relates to the Eagles is one of taking care of your players. The Birds always get out in front of these things and get these deals done early. They don’t let this stuff linger into camp and they don’t deal with holdout situations. If they sense a problem, i.e. Haason Reddick, they cut ties and move on.

Of course, the Cowboys and CeeDee could figure it out and be ready to go in Week 1, but the way they handle these situations is less than stellar and you can tell it bothers the players. Bad optics, bad vibes. When you see stuff like this, it should make for a renewed appreciation of the Eagles’ approach.
