What Could Possibly Be Hanging Behind this Orange Tape at The Linc? (UPDATE)

A super-secret unveiling seems to be taking place some time in the future at the Linc. This impeccable wrap job unfortunately has me stumped:

I went on a tour of the Linc thanks to the people at TickPick and it was awesome. We got to go on the field, the locker room, and had a Q&A with Fletcher Cox and Brandon Graham, which was easily the highlight. I learned that Graham’s strip sack of Tom Brady might’ve never happened if Fletch didn’t sacrifice his role on that play, but that’s a story for another day. When we were out on the field the tour guides told us all about the grass and pointed out where Mike Trout sits every year in early October. They didn’t mention the big orange wrap job in the rafters (probably for a reason). I’m guessing it’s a surprise to no one, but the banner is going to look just like one from 2017:

Sick. That’s going to be awesome next Thursday and going to make it even sweeter that we get to do it in front of Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys. Someone had a good point under my tweet about the banner set up:

I couldn’t agree more, but I’d argue the NFC Champion banners should stay. Sure, we’re a real organization with real trophies now, but Super Bowl appearances should still be celebrated. Division banners though? Get em out. It looks funny having the 2017 and 2024 banner hanging so far away from each other when they should get prominent real estate:

You don’t come to the Philadelphia Eagles to win the NFC East just like you don’t go to Penn State to play in a bowl game sponsored by a lawnmower company. We’re a championship program now. This isn’t your father’s Eagles when we were happy just winning the division or beating the Cowboys once a year. We’re one of the premiere franchises in the NFL. Lets start acting like it. Do we want to only hang Super Bowl banners like the Steelers or do we want to be the Colts and hang AFC finalist banners? Have the championship banners from 48, 49, 60, 17, and 24. Have the 2017 and 2024 banners next to each other. The 2017 banner sandwiched in between two NFC East Division banners looks stupid. I loved that Michael Vick season, but it ended with a 10-6 team losing to the Saints in the Wild Card. Maybe we can dust off the “Joint Practice Champions” banner and sandwich it somewhere if we go on a two-decade cold streak:

UPDATE: The Eagles have covered the banner:
