“What the Hell are You Talking About?” – DeSean Jackson and Michael Vick Reflect on Chip Kelly’s Tenure

It’s Super Bowl week.
We haven’t spent much time talking about the game because I don’t think Eagle fans give a shit about the Rams or the Patriots.
But there’s a ton of media leading up to Sunday, all sorts of random Philly-related storylines and ex-players hanging around before the big game.
Chris Simms and Adam Lefkoe (who used to do our jawn) interviewed Michael Vick and DeSean Jackson, who talked about their time in Philadelphia and how Chip Kelly ruined the team with whatever he was trying to do back then.
Said Jackson:
“He was one of them coaches who didn’t believe in players. Like it was his system. In the NFL it’s players that wins championships. Don’t get me wrong, the New England Patriots, they have a system that Bill Belichick has installed – ”
Simms: “But they find matchups within that system…”
Jackson: “You get what I’m saying? I just feel like it’s players in this league. You have Tom Brady. You have Edelman. You have Gronkowski, you have all these pieces to the puzzle. Chip Kelly was one of those coaches who was like, ‘this is my system.’ When he was hired, (Vick), me, LeSean McCoy, Jeremy Maclin, we didn’t have starting positions. He was like, ‘y’all ares threes, twos, you gotta earn your position. We were like, ‘what the hell are you talking about?'”
I, too, was wondering what Chip Kelly was trying to accomplish. You probably felt the same way.
Vick went on to share a really good story after Jackson said that. Video clip after the jump:

Doug Pederson replaced Kelly and, well, you know the rest.
That was a short video clip, but the full podcast is linked above.
