Green Bay Packers running back A.J. Dillon (28) breaks away from Tennessee Titans strong safety Kenny Vaccaro (24) for a touchdown run in the third quarter during their football game on December 27, 2020, at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wis.

The Eagles signed A.J. Dillon and his quads to a one-year deal:

Dillon didn’t play in 2024 because of a neck injury. The previous year, he went for 613 yards and two touchdowns backing up Aaron Jones, who only played 11 games due to injury issues. Dillon had a seven touchdown, 770 yard season the year prior. He has a good third down and short yardage conversion rate and is graded highly in pass protection, which is what you’re looking for in a third-down back who will spell Saquon Barkley in 2025. Kenny Gainwell is off to the Steelers and in comes Dillon to fill the hole. Kenny G had a really nice 2024 season and did the job when Saquon was off the field.

The thing about Dillon is that he’s one of those guys who can squat more than 600 pounds. Between him, Barkley, and Jalen Hurts, that’s almost 2,000 pounds of squatting. We’ve spoken hypothetically about running the ball on every single play, and if Saquon rips off 7-8 yards on the first two runs, Dillon comes in on third down to try to move the sticks. If it winds up in a 4th and 1 situation, Hurts runs the tush push for a first town. The Birds may not have to throw the ball at all in 2025. Vamos!
