With Wind Gusts in the Forecast, John Bolaris Wants the Eagles to Run the Ball Against Raiders
John Bolaris recently left the Philadelphia region, forsaking us for sunny South Florida, but here’s his take on the Birds/Raiders forecast:
Point: Jalen Hurts and Jake Elliott dealing with 20-30 mph wind gusts isn’t ideal.
Counterpoint: They played inside a climate-controlled dome on Monday night and combined for four interceptions and a missed field goal, or three interceptions if you want to blame the one on A.J. Brown.
As you know, Bolaris is the meteorologist we turn to for Philadelphia sporting events. Laugh about the “Storm of the Century” all you want, but that’s old hat. J-Bo was all over the bad cancellation of Phillies’ opening day back in 2023. He then accurately forecasted the Eagles vs. Rams 2025 divisional round game, noting that there would be “accumulating snow” in the second half. That led to this:

As far as I’m concerned, Bolaris is on a heater. He’s been nailing forecasts left and right. You can laugh all you want about things that happened in the past, but ask the mobsters who sent Eastern European hookers after J-Bo if they’re laughing now. They’re not.
The Birds should indeed keep the rock on the ground this weekend. Jalen threw the ball 40 times on Monday night and only ran it four times for eight yards. If you remove Saquon Barkley’s house call, he was below 4.0 YPC once again. The Raiders’ offense is pitiful but the defense is league average in most statistics. I need the boys to come out and assert themselves on their home field and take out an inferior opponent. Let’s get some jam in the building.
