Flyers Bringing Back Italian Heritage Night

The Flyers lost again on Wednesday, but at least Italian Heritage Night is returning to Xfinity Mobile Arena for the Sunday, March 29th game against the Dallas Stars.

Special package purchasers will receive a ticket, admission to a pregame set by DJ Johnny Looch, and an exclusive tee shirt:

This will actually be the second Italian heritage night at Xfinity Mobile Arena this winter, because Knucklemania VI had at least 15,000 paisans in the building. Not even joking. I’d say 75% of the crowd was there for Johnny Garbarino and a lot of people left after his fight. There were Johnny Cannoli giveaway towels on all of the seats and he was easily the draw of the night.

As for March 29th, maybe Gritty comes out with a huge cannoli and smashes it over Mikko Rantanen’s head while saying “fuggedabout it.” Then Jonesy and Danny Briere do a skit reprising the “Italian discrimination” scene from The Sopranos.

In Napoli, a lot of people are not so happy for Columbus.

Afterward, Pottsville Italian Russ Joy gets on the microphone to blather about Sheetz while Nick Sirianni and Big Dom are honored as great local paisans. Then they fill up the t-shirt cannon with Gabagool and fire it at Jake Oettinger.

Those could work, or maybe not.

By the way, I’m hearing from super-secret sources that Irish Heritage night will return next season. As usual, the Italians get to go first and we gotta wait. Outrageous!
