Flyers’ Postseason Injury List Reaffirms That These Guys are Tough as Nails
This is somehow incredible and unsurprising at the same time. The Flyers released their injury list on Thursday (photo from Russell) –

On that list, the only guys who missed games in the Carolina series were Owen Tippett, Noah Cates, and Nikita Grebenkin, and he may not have been in the lineup to begin with.
Hockey players are always carrying some injury with them, kind of like the Eagles offensive line playing through all of the stuff that bothered them this past season, but it always hits differently when you see a list like this and realize “hot damn, these guys are tougher than nails.” Christian Dvorak was out there on the ice with a separated shoulder and a broken rib. Maybe Travis Konecny’s playoff struggles correlate to the multiple fractures he was dealing with. You’ve got broken feet, broken wrists, sprains, internal bleeding, and then Grebenkin’s injury isn’t listed. How bad is he banged up? Did he have an amputation + jaw wired shut at the same time? Brutal!
What’s crazier is that Travis Sanheim, Sean Couturier, and Rasmus Ristolainen somehow made it through the playoffs with no injuries. Maybe just bumps and bruises, but it’s wild to see guys like Zegras and Bump on here while three dudes who did a lot of thumping against the Yinzers and Canes are doing well.
Respect to these guys, for real. It’s just a flesh wound!
