Flyers Re-Sign Michal Neuvirth and Pierre-Edouard Bellemare
By Kyle Scott
Published:
The Flyers re-signed Michael Neuvrith– two years, $5 million. It’s a middling deal that could allow them to trade him… leave him unprotected for the expansion draft and keep Anthony Stolarz, who isn’t exactly tearing it up in the minors… or just keep him as a rather unexciting starter next season.
They also re-signed Pierre-Edouard Bellemare for two years, $2.9 million. I texted Dan for his thoughts and got the following:
That’s mind numbing. He’s the worst 5v5 forward in the league over the last 3 seasons. And at age 32 u not only extended him 2 years u doubled his salary. I don’t care if he’s the best guy in the world.
God, Bellemare is legitimately the worst 5v5 scoring forward of the past three years. Amazing.https://t.co/DWcR6sxdbK

Are we still at the point where we’re applauding Ron Hextall for just getting rid of a few bad contracts and doing nothing to markedly improve the team?
