Fundraiser for Seriously Injured Local Teen Hockey Player Eclipses $215,000

Have you heard the story about 17 year old Brian Page?
He’s a Delaware hockey player who was severely injured in a recent game, with doctors concerned he might not walk again due to a pair of spinal fractures and damage to his spinal cord.
Here’s part of the write-up from FOX 29:
The high school senior has had a love for hockey since the age of 3. He underwent emergency surgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital within six hours of being injured. He has another surgery set for Friday.
Teammate Corey Owens was on the ice with Brian when he went down. He setup a GoFundMe page to help the family.
“Definitely something you never want to see, especially to a good friend here. I just couldn’t sit around. I just saw how traumatic the injury was and I just needed to help him.”
At the fundraiser page, Owens says the pair play for the U18 Philadelphia Little Flyers and that Brian suffered the injury when he took a hit at center ice in that recent game.
As of publication, some 3,300 donors had raised more than $217,000 towards the $250,000 goal. If you’d like to check out the page and donate to Brian’s cause, click here:
