The Flyers got their first win of the season in Monday night’s home opener, taking out the defending champion Panthers 5-2 after a late third-period winner:

Nothing but filth! Haven’t seen a Flyer do something like that in.. well, it’s been a while.

Did he see Coots on that play?

“I tried to,” Zegras told reporters in the locker room. “I settled it for a second and tried to read the play. Two guys came pretty hard and (I) just tried to get it off my stick as quick as possible… You kind of look up for a split second and see where your guys are. Obviously if two people are coming at your head, someone is probably open. Little bit of area, little bit of feel for where the guys are, sure.”

Feeling pretty good about the Flyers right now. Would you agree? They had the defending champs twice in their first three games, with the Canes sandwiched in between. You can’t get a more difficult schedule to begin, and they still have Winnipeg coming up on Thursday, so it was murderer’s row right out of the gate. But they’ve battled in all three games so far and 1-1-1 seems fair, Raleigh overtime boning being what it is.

Coots looks good. Dan “Vladdy” Vladar is seeing everything and we got our first highlight-reel moment from Zegras. You’re looking for things to build on, things to feel good about as this team hopefully turns the corner. That’s the goal here. Nothing crazy.

At the current moment, we are Posidelphia with the Flyers.
