That’s Kevin Connauton from the Florida Panthers. He’s a 6th or 7th d-man on this team, competing with the not-exactly-stalwart Nick Seeler and Keith Yandle for ice time. Ryan Ellis is still out, so they can squeeze Connauton in here, and he’s probably a better option at this point.

What they should do is let Yandle get his record, which would trigger in mid-January, and then immediately waive him. That’s the deal. You get your record, then we waive your rear end. See ya.

EDIT:

Yandle should be given two options. 1) retire immediately after getting the record or 2) we waive your ass. I think that’s more respectful and fair.
