Why you hefta be mad?
What a bunch of assholes. As you've probably heard by now, Vancouver full-on rioted after the Canucks lost the Stanley Cup last night. Fires, stabbings, looting, fights with police, pepper spray… it's all here. Idiots.
As you know, if this had happened in Philly… well, the national media would be calling for Seal Team Six to repel from their super-craft and hand out bin Ladens to anyone even looking like they couldn't pronounce the short a in water.
Vancouver built up so much goodwill, first with last year's Olympics and now with this Stanley Cup run. It's all gone. It's not fair to lump all Canadians together, but this is the sort of thing that only happens in places where sports are an escape from an otherwise awkward, or unfortunate, existence. Most accounts from last night attribute the actions to a number of "hooligans," who are not representative of Canucks fans. While that's almost always the case with incidents of fan idiocy, this time it's different. Watch these videos- it's not all thugs. There are people with playoff beards. Hooligans don't grow 60-day scruff. These are fans. These people took their shit seriously. Idiots.
