Oh Good, Well at Least the Flyers Aren’t Probably Misdiagnosing Brayden Schenn’s Non-Concussion
By Kyle Scott
Published:
Brayden Schenn, today, following the hit and his three attempts to get up last night:
“There’s no concussion, anything like that. A lot of stiffness in the upper back, neck. Stuff like that.”
“I honestly remember picking the puck up in the corner, it just happened so fast, people say maybe I’ve seen him coming, he was coming in pretty fast, maybe I did see him for a split second. I don’t really remember the play much at all.”
Paul Holmgren:
Holmgren just added that doctors determined a concussion/baseline test was unnecessary based on how Schenn felt and their exam after the hit

Hey, ah, Brayden, how’s the head feel today? Looked pretty bad and you briefly forgot how to stand upright even though you’ve been on skates since you were in diapers.
Oh, I’m fine. Someone told me something about a hit. Don’t remember it. Just want to go home so my mom can take me to see Home Alone 3, which came out last week, five years after the last one.
OK, great. You don’t need an ImPACT test. You’re cleared to play when your neck is feeling better.
I don’t know. Feel like… maybe they should’ve tested him and not just taken his word for it?

[Last night, the Flyers were doing their best to stay in “upper-body injury” mode. I’m told some reporters talked to Luke Schenn, ostensibly about his brother, and the team wasn’t too happy about that. At one point, a certain member of the Core 4 – Tim Panaccio – freaked out because he thought the Flyers were handing out super secret injury info to preferred reporters, which they weren’t.]Video after the jump.
