The latest episode of Barstool’s Spittin’ Chiclets podcast dropped on Tuesday and about halfway through Biz goes on a rant about the Matvei Michkov situation:
Here’s some of the rant transcribed:
“I think Philadelphia Flyers fans are completely unhinged online. Buddy, honestly, they’re fucking morons. You can quote board that, too… I don’t feel like giving it my oxygen and my energy anymore, other than just saying they’re fucking morons. You know it’s bad when I’m not even arguing with you because you’re that stupid. Like I’ll tell you right now I’m a fucking moron. But you guys are, pfff – I would get into Harvard compared to how stupid these fucking people are, and how much energy they’re spending on this particular topic…
(Rick Tocchet’s) protecting (Michkov). He’s doing him a fucking favor. And all you’re doing is trying to drag his name through the fucking… ‘aw what has he done?’ He’s a fucking year and a half removed from winning the Jack ADAMS… Hook me up to a lie detector test and ask me how many times Rick Tocchet has texted me about Michkov. He’s probably on Zoom calls with Better Help (a mental health resource) dealing with these fucking Flyer fans all day long spending all of their time and energy on this… Out of spite I would legit play him 25 minutes every game for the rest of the season. That’s what I would I do. I’m over it. I’ll go to war for Tocc that’s how much I love him. But these people are moronic. Do you agree with me? Do you not see what’s happening online? It’s all they want to talk about… I don’t know how many times I can scream from the mountaintop and say I don’t hate this kid. I don’t. I’m squashing (those rumors).”
It continues on for a little bit more. The whole thing is ridiculous at this point but it’s really entertaining. It’s an all out war between Flyers fans, the local beats, national writers, bloggers, the good old boys, etc.
