Penguins Coach Dan Muse Says Known Flopper Sidney Crosby Does Not Embellish

Unlike Flyers fans everywhere, who were lucky enough to witness the momentous occasion, Penguins coach Dan Muse was not happy about the embellishment penalty issued to Sidney Crosby in Game 3. According to the Pittsburgh boss man, Sidney Crosby would never, ever, ever, ever flop:
“We don’t have a single embellishment all year. Sidney Crosby doesn’t have an embellishment in 21 seasons. So, stick’s in his face. They take both of them. So, I disagree on that strongly. Not one. Not one for our team. All season. And so, we didn’t come into this series to start now. Our guys have done a good job with that. And Sid doesn’t embellish. So.”
Muse said all of this so confidently that for a moment, I had to stop and reflect. “Maybe he’s right… Maybe Crosby is above that kind of stuff… Maybe I’m remembering all of this wrong…” So I circled back and watched the footage again:
Ah, okay, I see. Never mind! Muse is wrong! This is clearly, egregiously a flop. Even Crosby seems to acknowledge it once he’s in the box and spots a nearby Flyers fan giving him a side-eye:
Then, of course, I remembered that Crosby has famously been doing this forever:
Respect to Dan Muse for trying to go to bat for his guy. Just a damn shame we got all these cameras everywhere.
