Now here’s a guy who gets it. That’s a fantastic quote. He could go on to be the worst player of all time and I will still have eternal respect for Ristolainen simply for dropping that quote.
It also reminds me a bit of that famous exchange in Happy Gilmore, which goes like this:
Shooter McGavin: “You’re gonna beat me, at golf? You’re on. You’re in big trouble though, pal. I eat pieces of shit like you for breakfast.”
Happy Gilmore: “You eat pieces of shit for breakfast?”
Shooter McGavin: “<pauses> ..No! …uh <walks away>”
On a more serious note, people like to joke about the “old time Flyers hockey thing,” but this team was soft last season. They need a big bruiser on the blue line. They need Rasmus Ristolainen to be a piece of shit out there and knock some guys around. Preferably Brad Marchand and Sidney Crosby.
