Ryan Ellis Will Not Play this Season

Flyers news, or maybe not:
And to little surprise, Fletcher confirmed defenseman Ryan Ellis will not play this season. He had said during training camp that it would be a major bonus if Ellis did come back

This is not a surprise and was more or less expected. Ellis played four games last season then went on the shelf and has not been able to play since, describing his injury as a “multilayered problem” that involves the entirety of his pelvic region, which is where Christian Pulisic got blasted in Qatar the other day.
On one hand, you feel bad for Ellis, because what the hell is he supposed to do? If the guy is injured, he’s injured, but the fact of the matter is that the Flyers traded Phil Myers and Nolan Patrick for a #2 defenseman who has played four games in two seasons. That’s one of many contributing factors to why the team has been hopeless during that time period.
Now taking bets on whether or not Ellis plays another NHL game. Odds at the Crossing Broad Sportsbook are currently -250 for no, and +125 for yes.
