Laughton came into this one with three goals in 29 games this season, and scored the final goal of last year on March 26th. So that’s four goals Thursday night and four goals in his last 42 games prior to that. Just like we all drew it up! We had a breakaway clapper, a shortie, and two empty netters for good measure. Whatever wins you the hockey game. They’re playing like a wild card team right now, and yeah it’s December and the standings are really clumpy, but after the terrible start the Flyers have leveled out and they’re playing at a clip that might see them sneak in. Some will say that’s a good thing, others prefer the tank, but either way, they’ve been so much better since mid-November.
