Flyers vs. Penguins on Saturday night in Yinzerville. Game 1 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals.

The bookmakers installed the Penguinos as a -150 home favorite to kick off the series, which means we have them right where we want them. The Flyers go in as a +125 underdog for Game 1 and a +130 underdog to win the series.

Here’s a preview of the Battle for Pennsylvania, which was foretold in the 1995 classic, Sudden Death:

If you’ve never seen the movie, the gist is that Jean Claude Van Damme is a former firefighter now working security at the Pittsburgh hockey arena. A bunch of terrorists kidnap the Vice President and threaten to blow up the building, which forces Van Damme to SPRING INTO ACTION to defeat the bad guys and save the day. In the scene above, he eliminates a jabroni posing as the Penguins’ mascot.

You should watch it Friday night if you have time. Or Saturday at some point before the puck drops. It’ll get you so pumped up that you’ll want to lay a big hit on Sidney Crosby on the first shift, to set the tone.
