An incredible Olympic Gold Medal game ended with the U.S. victorious over Canada after a Jack Hughes overtime goal.

Unfortunately, no Flyers are on the U.S. team, but we did have Travis Sanheim suit up for Canada and Rick Tocchet behind their bench:

Rasmus Ristolainen also won a bronze medal after Finland easily dispatched Slovakia on Saturday, 6-1:

Obviously every NHL team does this, but it’s kinda funny how quickly we’re reminded of our two players and coach who won medals because that’s really all we can get excited about for hockey around here. Now that Daryl Morey completely ruined any chance the Sixers had this season of making a run, I guess we have to hope for the Flyers to do it. The Union showed that getting rid of your best players isn’t exactly conducive to an exciting product in their domestic season opener Saturday night. Maybe the Phillies can win the Grapefruit League championship. Will Howie Roseman make a splash to give us some juice? The World Baseball Classic is around the corner, so maybe we’ll get one of these from the Phillies soon enough.
