Well, friends, it’s almost time. The Eagles are off till next Sunday, the Union are prepping for their final couple of games before hosting a playoff game, and the Phillies are… let’s not worry about that. It’s the perfect time to turn our collective focus this week to the Orange & Black, as the Flyers have landed in Switzerland ahead of their week abroad to start their season.

The Flyers, who were an underwhelming 1-2-3 this preseason, have a tuneup game on Monday against Lausanne HC at Vaudoise Arena before their regular season opener on Friday, October 4, when they take on the Chicago Blackhawks from the O2 Arena in the Czech Republic capital of Prague. As we’ve written before, there will be some extensive coverage of the Lausanne HC game on NBC Sports Philadelphia+, while the season opener against Chicago will air locally on NBC Sports Philadelphia at 2:00 PM.
The team is currently carrying 25 players -more than the 23 they’re allowed to have during the regular season- due to their European tour. That said, they’ll still need to submit a 23-man roster to the league ahead of Friday’s season opener. That 25-man squad includes:
Forwards:
- Connor Bunnaman
- Sean Couturier
- Joel Farabee
- Claude Giroux
- Kevin Hayes
- Travis Konecny
- Oskar Lindblom
- Scott Laughton
- Tyler Pitlick
- Michael Raffl
- James van Riemsdyk
- Chris Stewart (PTO)
- Carsen Twarynski
- Jake Voracek
Defensemen:
- Justin Braun
- Shayne Gostisbehere
- Robert Hägg
- Matt Niskanen
- Sam Morin
- Philippe Myers
- Ivan Provorov
- Travis Sanheim
Goalies:
- Brian Elliott

- Alex Lyon
