The Flyers Haven’t Beaten the Leafs in Toronto Since Matt Niskanen was on the Roster
We’ve got a case of the movable object vs. the stoppable force on Monday night in Toronto.
It’ll be the 65 point Flyers vs. the 63 point Leafs inside a barn where the Orange and Black never seem to play well.
In FACT, they haven’t won inside of Scotiabank Arena since 2019, the last 10 road games looking like this:
- Mar 25, 2025 – Maple Leafs 7, Flyers 2
- Jan 5, 2025 – Maple Leafs 3, Flyers 2 (OT)
- Feb 15, 2024 – Maple Leafs 4, Flyers 3 (OT)
- Dec 22, 2022 – Maple Leafs 4, Flyers 3
- Nov 2, 2022 – Maple Leafs 5, Flyers 2
- Apr 19, 2022 – Maple Leafs 5, Flyers 2
- Apr 2, 2022 – Maple Leafs 6, Flyers 3
- Nov 11, 2021 – Maple Leafs 3, Flyers 0
- Nov 2, 2019 – Maple Leafs 4, Flyers 3 (SO)
- Nov 9, 2019 – Flyers 3, Maple Leafs 2 (SO)
Safe to say the Leafs have had the Flyers’ number over the years, and not just at home. They’ve won eight of their last 10 in Philadelphia as well.
The last win up there, November 9th, 2019, feels like another lifetime. It was pre-pandemic with Alain Vigneault behind the bench. The Flyers got 20:13 of ice time from Matt Niskanen and 19:54 from goal-scorer Phil Myers. Oskar Lindblom had the other goal, assisted by Travis Konecny and Joel Farabee (Young Beezer). Brian Elliott stopped 38 of 40 shots and Claude Giroux and Sean Couturier scored the shootout goals.
Funny enough, the Flyers are on a two-game winning streak. They haven’t won three in a row since November. The Leafs are on a three-game losing streak and don’t have a victory since the Olympic break. So something’s gotta give here. There is no way the Flyers beat the Bruins and Leafs in consecutive games, right? What is this, the Twilight Zone? Will the Leafs lose four in a row for the third time this season? That seems unfathomable when looking at this game on PA sports betting apps and New Jersey sports betting apps. But this version of the Leafs also stinks, so you never know.
