This is great, the best thing an official has said since that NFL ref talked about a player giving another player “the business.” Shouldn’t officials be more chill like this? It’s definitely more entertaining. I think they should engage with the fans throughout, make it a two-way street. Instead of taking abuse from the crowd and from the players they should be able to fight back. Ed Hochuli’s kid flexes his biceps, then gets on the mic and says, “you motherfuckers can boo all you want, but the ball didn’t cross the plane, the ruling on the field stands.” Maybe that’s what missing from sports. The refs should be more like Chase Utley. Boo? Fuck you!
