The Flyers are 6-3-1, 6-1 at home with five straight wins. Even though Matvei Michkov is off to a slow start, he wound up with two assists Thursday night against the Predators to increase his point total to five on the season.

But the guy who’s really stealing the spotlight early this season is Trevor Zegras. Zegras has seven points in his last three games with four goals and three assists, including two goals against the Nashville Predators Thursday night. With the ice tilted much in favor of the Predators, Zegras opened the scoring about midway through the second period and added a quick power play tally in the third to help cement the victory. After the game, Zegras delivered some words of wisdom in regard to playing in Philly, while talking to Jim Jackson and Brian Boucher:

“Over the summer, I definitely changed a bunch of things – my mindset heading into the season and the games. You come to a sports town like Philadelphia, you don’t wanna embarrass yourself and you don’t wanna embarrass yourself in front of your teammates. So, just try to be the best version of myself for these guys.”

What a gift.
