Why John Tortorella Shrugs Off Questions from a Certain Flyers Reporter

Interesting insight from Ant on Crossing Broadcast, with behind-the-scenes on Torts vs. the Flyers beats:

Remember when we set the odds back in October? Sam Carchidi was the favorite at -110:
What Flyers beat does Torts get into a scrap with first?
-110 @BroadStBull
+150 @charlieo_conn
+225 @JHallNBCS
+250 @ReinerOlivia
+400 The Field
10/1 @AntSanPhilly

That was not enough juice. He should’ve started around -275 honestly. This was like giving American Pharaoh plus odds to win the Derby. The Crossing Broad Sportsbook will be taking a bath when Carchidi cashes. We’re going to have to switch our whole business model to same game parlays to recoup. Currently, the odds are off the board because it’s not if, but when Torts shits down Carchidi’s throat after a loss.
Also, how about Kevin Cooney’s story about Ryne Sandberg. How do you not have one Bill Murray story queued up ready to go at the drop of the hat? Over a four-hour round of golf Sandberg probably had 10 different legendary stories. Does Bill recite his lines from Caddyshack as he’s approaching the ball? He definitely does. The best Bill Murray story I’ve ever heard, secondhand, was he stole some guy’s french fry off his plate while he was walking by a restaurant. When the guy looked at him, Bill winked, and said “Nobody will ever believe you.” and walked away. Classic.
