Cancel your Robert Covington Reunion Tour plans, pack your shirseys away, and pour one out for dreams of Ben Simmons, Matisse Thybulle, and RoCo terrorizing opposing backcourts. The former Sixer is has been traded to the Houston Rockets in a pretty massive four-team trade with direct trade implications for the Sixers:
ESPN Sources: 4-team trade agreement: Houston: Robert Covington; Atlanta: Clint Capela and Nene; Minnesota: Malik Beasley, Juancho Hernangomez, Evan Turner, ATL 1st round pick via Nets; Denver: Gerald Green, Houston FRP.

But wait, there’s more. As details emerged overnight, the originally reported WOJBOMB was updated to include more players, upping the total to twelve:
To Houston:
- Robert Covington
- Jordan Bell
To Minnesota:
- Malik Beasley
- Juan Hernangomez
- Jarred Vanderbilt
- Evan Turner
- 1st Round Pick (from Atlanta, via Brooklyn)
To Denver:
- Keita Bates-Diop
- Noah Vonleh
- Shabazz Napier
- Gerald Green
- 1st Round Pick (from Houston)
To Atlanta:
- Clint Capela
- Nene
It’s the largest trade in terms of players moved in a single deal since the New York Knicks shipped Patrick Ewing to Seattle in 2000.
Anyway, it turns out a bunch of rumors swirling ahead of the trade deadline were correct, as Capela was coveted by Atlanta and Houston GM Daryl Morey reportedly wanted to add a skilled 3-and-D wing in Covington.
Good news for the Sixers in that this takes Capela off the board for the Celtics, while potential target Malik Beasley’s move to the T’Wolves might be a bit of a blow to Elton Brand.
