Five Bets for a Beautiful Sports Weekend

I’m the captain now, Kinkead.
I’ve taken over the Friday sports betting cornucopia and if these bets win, Kevin is never getting this column back. If my bets all stink, Kevin ghost wrote this column.
Anyway, it’s conference championship weekend in college football, the Sixers play the Bucks and Lakers, the Flyers play the NHL-leading Avalanche and there’s a shit ton of meaningful games across the NFL before the Eagles play on Monday.
Duke vs. Virginia (-4): As much as I would love to see complete chaos at the back end of the CFB Playoff and see the ACC champion maybe not make the 12-team field if Duke wins, there’s a reason why the Blue Devils are 7-5. Duke lost by nine or more points to its three ranked foes and fell by seven to American Conference finalist Tulane. Virginia was one of the ranked teams to beat Duke, and it did so by a 34-17 score and outgained Duke 540-255. Yeah, give me the Hoos to reach the playoff, and easily.
Indiana vs. Ohio State (-4): Don’t overcomplicate this. Ohio State is in a class of its own in college football. The Big Ten Championship Game still means something because OSU hasn’t won it since 2020. If you’re fully chugging the Buckeye Kool-Aid, Julian Sayin is +175 to win the Heisman.
Paul George Over 7.5 Rebounds & Assists (+110; bet365): It’s gross, I get it, but hear me out. Paul George didn’t play on Thursday, Joel Embiid probably isn’t playing the second leg of a back-to-back and Andre Drummond fouled out last time the Sixers were in Milwaukee, a game that also didn’t feature Giannis, who is out again. PG had five rebounds and three assists in the first game against the Bucks and he’s had 8 R/A in three of his six games this season.
Seahawks Team Total Over 27.5 (+120; bet365): The Seahawks just put up 26 points against a decent Vikings defense. They’ve scored at least 26 points in five of their last six. Atlanta’s season is as dead as it can be, and at home this year, it’s given up 23, 27, 14, 34 and 30 points. Jaxon Smith-Njigba will probably have 100 yards and two scores by halftime and I don’t think we’ll see much fight from the Falcons if they face an early deficit.
Newcastle United/Bayern Munich/Paris St. Germain Over 1.5 Team Total Parlay (+140; BetMGM): Let’s spice it up with some soccer. Newcastle has scored multiple goals in seven straight home games and it faces an EPL relegation fighter in Burnley. Bayern has failed to score multiple goals in a game once this season. That’s a 20-for-21 hit rate. PSG is 7-for-10 scoring multiple goals at home this season.
