Flyers a +125 Underdog Against Golden Knights with Carter Hart Sitting on Bench

The Flyers have won five of their last seven games.
That’s actually a bigger milestone than you think because the Flyers have to stockpile some points at home before they go into the wilderness for nine road games in a 10-game span, a run that begins on Sunday.
The goal on Thursday against the Vegas Golden Knights is to find a way to earn at least one point. BetMGM has the Flyers as a +125 money-line underdog.
Thursday’s big story is that Carter Hart isn’t starting in goal for Vegas. All signs were pointing to Akira Schmid being in net because he hasn’t played in six days.
Schmid has a 2.35 GAA and a .903 save percentage. He produced a shutout in his last start against the Devils, who are going through it right now with injuries, and he’s only allowed more than three goals twice this season.
Dan Vladar’s got a slightly better .908 save percentage and a 2.50 GAA. He’s let up three goals or fewer in five of his last six appearances, including a 17-save, one-concession performance against the San Jose Sharks last time out.
Both teams give up under three goals per game and they concede 26 and 25 shots on goal per game, so it doesn’t exactly set up to be an offensive show.
To cast more doubt on the Over, the Golden Knights and Flyers each rank in the bottom half of shots on goal allowed per game against all positions. The biggest weakness between the two sides is the Flyers giving up the 17th-most SOG per game to opposing centers.
The Under 5.5 sits at even-money at bet365. That’s the best bet to make with the goalie matchup in place.
Hell, I’d even look into the game to go to overtime at +400 on NJ and PA sports betting apps.
Three of the last five Vegas games went to the extra period and six of the Flyers’ 10 overtime games occurred inside Xfinity Mobile Arena.
