The Philadelphia Flyers will look to get some quick revenge on Saturday night in a rematch against the Boston Bruins.

The Boston Bruins picked up a 5-4 shootout victory on Thursday night, with the Flyers blowing their two-goal lead built during the second period. The Bruins exploded for four scores before Philly tied the contest on a power-play tally from forward James van Riemsdyk, which was his second goal of the night.

Boston forward Jake DeBrusk scored the only goal of the shootout round, with Tuukka Rask stopping all four Flyers shooters to preserve the win.

Philadelphia is still missing key forward Sean Couturier and defenseman Shayne Ghostisbehere, and the blue-line depth will now be further tested. Phillpe Myers is out for at least a couple of weeks, while Mark Friedman suffered a facial injury and is day-to-day.

Ghostisbehere could return to the lineup for this contest after he battled COVID-19, but if he isn’t ready, journeyman Nate Prosser will have to be inserted into the rotation.

With a pair of goals scored last time out, the 31-year old forward now has three goals and two assists on the season, and I like for his hot run to continue if the Flyers are going to have a chance to earn two points in this contest. Flyers Team Total UNDER 2.5 Goals (-125, DraftKings)

For the Bruins to win their second straight game, they will have to rely on their goaltending and defense, both units of which have performed above expectations through five games. They will have to hold this streaking Flyers offense to under three goals and avoid another track meet like the one played  on Thursday night.

This Boston team isn’t built to score in bunches. The backend play will have to stand tall at TD Garden if they want to come out victorious.

These two teams are a combined 2-7 to the under in first period totals this season, with a head-to-head mark of 3-3 in their last six meetings. Meanwhile, three straight meetings have been played to a first period under. Both of these clubs play tight early and then make adjustments in the later periods, as shown on Thursday with six total goals scored in the second frame of action.

This will be another tightly contested matchup, and I feel that Boston will be able to keep things level on the defensive end and find a way to pick up another one-goal victory over the short-handed Flyers.
